“Come along, explore your creativity and bring your ideas out onto the canvas”.
Whether you are just starting out or wanting to push your ideas further and learn some other skills in painting and drawing, this class is a space to focus on developing your artwork with support in a 3 hour workshop on Sunday afternoons. With a flexible drop in option - the class is on from 1 - 4pm on Sundays. You can come along for just one class to get some advice or come along every week and enjoy the artistic community that is Country Lane. All ideas are welcome in oils, acrylic, drawing or mixed media. The size is completely upto you also. As I paint different subjects from contemporary landscape, abstract and illustrative, figures and portraits. I have explored many styles and welcome unusual ideas and experimentation with mediums.
With a focus on foundational art skills and techniques, Some of the things we explore are : creating depth of field, balance of form and colour. We discuss and cover drawing as its own beautiful medium and the importance of having a strong drawing underneath a painting as its structure of a composition. Along with acrylic painting techniques, mediums and mixed media. As well as learning about painting with oils and understanding the options in mediums and working with glazes and layers.
Please bring :
* your own canvas and materials
* apron or old clothes
I will have Tea & coffee available and light snacks ( plenty of options from Buzzstop cafe or Sundays - you are welcome to bring in studio)
I will be happy to provide brushes and mixed media materials to try out different ideas. As well as any tools for the class that may be needed and show you how different colours I may have can mix together to work with your idea.
PLEASE NOTE - There may be a very friendly little dog in the studio.
