“Bring your ideas out onto the canvas”.
Saturday Afternoon Painting & Drawing Workshop
Whether you're just starting out or looking to push your ideas further, this workshop provides a supportive space to develop your artwork. In a relaxed three-hour session on Saturday afternoons, you’ll have the opportunity to explore painting and drawing techniques while receiving guidance tailored to your creative journey.
Join us from 3 – 5 PM on Saturdays with a flexible weekly drop-in option. Come for a single session to gain insights or attend regularly and enjoy the inspiring artistic community at Country Lane. All styles and ideas are welcome, whether you work in oils, acrylics, drawing, or mixed media.
Canvas size is entirely up to you! It might be that you are currently excited by the idea of bright abstracts or the immediacy of drawing, or the depth and richness of oils. Maybe you love the transparency of inky acrylic washes and the flexibility of acrylics. Or the exploratory nature of collage and layered assemblage of mixed media and glazing.
This 2 hr workshop embraces the diversity of your imagination and can touch on each of these mediums and encourages a deeper understanding of what they can do and an expansive experience of what you can create.
I work across contemporary landscape, abstract, illustrative figures, and portraits and encourage experimentation with mediums and techniques. Through different mediums we explore foundational art skills such as creating depth, achieving balance in form and colour, and exploring drawing as both a standalone practice and the structural foundation of a painting. We will discuss many fundamental skills which transfer between acrylic and oil painting techniques,
